Description
A lot of antique late 19th - early 20th century Japanese ceramic tableware and decor with gilt detailings. A total of six items including two teapots, a side-handle teapot, a creamer, a vase, and a round jar. The pieces are of various traditional designs: flowers, dragons, landscapes, multi-figure procession scenes. The creamer has an embossed hieroglyphical hallmark on the bottom. The vase, the jar, and the white kettle have hieropglyphical hallmarks on the bottom indicating that these are Satsuma ware, a type of Japanese pottery which originated in Satsuma Province. Since the 19th century it was mainly produced for Western export and therefore elaborately decorated. Meiji era, 1868-1913. Collectible Oriental Ceramic Home Decor Items.
