Measure 12 1/2"in H x 9"in W and 17 3/4"in H x 12 3/4"in W with frame
Known for: Landscape, coastal view painting, teaching
Biography: She was born in Whitby Ontario in 1864 and died in Toronto, Canada in 1938. She was a well known Canadian painter, with her paintings being in the collection of several museums. Starting in 1881 she traveled extensively throughout the Americas and Europe, and in 1913 she studied in France Art Nouveau and Impressionism techniques prevalent in Europe at the time. One of her paintings, Contentment, was exhibited at the 1913 Salon des Beaux Arts. In 1917 she returned to Canada and embarked on an extensive painting career.
