British School, Portrait of a Lady, second quarter of the 19th century, apparently unsigned, depicting an elegant and prosperous Regency lady in black velvet with a fur stole and opulent Romantic-era lace bonnet with ruff, posed before a fluted column, a red velvet curtain, and a partial landscape view, housed in an elaborate gilded (and gold painted) wood and composite period frame, bearing a label for "Grundy & ...[Fox?] / Exchange St... M[anchester]..." as well as a label inscribed in ink and reading "Fixed & Repaired / S. Pierce..."
