Description
You will receive an Army Air Service Fokker T-2 Airplane Original Fabric & Picture. There were only 2 of these aircrafts built. Only one of the T-2s was used for a number of long-distance flights. In 1923, U.S. Army Air Service Lieutenants Oakley Kelly and John Macready took off in this Fokker T-2 from Long Island, New York and landed in San Diego, California just over 26 hours and 50 minutes later, completing the first nonstop U.S. transcontinental flight. The approximate size is 15.75 x 20.75 inches in the frame. The piece itself is 14.5 x 19.5 inches. The original fabric is 1.75 x 2 inches. This piece has some foxing / discoloration from age. It also has clear tape on the reverse to keep the piece in the frame. It is still in good condition for its age. The frame does not have a glass to protect the piece. Nice piece of aviation history.
