Unusual Grand Tour Bronze, Bone, Tortoiseshell and Porcelain Pocket Sundial
fourth quarter 19th century, probably Italian, the bronze base raised on monopodia, set with a porcelain bezel fitted with a terrestrial globe, and opening to reveal a sundial, the interior lid covered in tortoiseshell, with a slot to accept the bronze vane, and the sundial engraved with numerals.
