Outstanding Archive of Approximately 800 Photographic Glass Magic Lantern slides of South America including scenes and historic views of Panama Canal, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Tierra Del Fuego, several views of NY Harbor with ships, and a group pertaining to the San Diego Exposition with particular focus on landscape, industry, and the people. Many are identified by personal notes on the margins. - Many by Rau Photography Philadelphia, Pierce Photography Boston, A large number are marked Sweeny's Travelling Talks - Believed to be a Pan-American tour and presentation by Carroll F. Sweeney a Morrisville Vt, based entertainer/photographer and raconteur. Purchased by the current owner around 1970, and presented in an attractive 8 drawer quartersawn oak file box with two additional slide top boxes for slides
