The cigarette box is hallmarked accordingly and weighs approx. 170 grams measuring 3.12 x 4.62 in. Provenance: This distinctive golden cigarette case was made for the founder of Leica Camera in 1869. Dr. Ernest Leitz company manufactured cameras, optical lenses, photographic lenses, binoculars and microscopes. Dr. Leitz and his brother were responsible for assisting approx. 300,000 Jewish peoples to escape the fear and horror of Nazi Germany.
