Description

Wonderful gunmetal glazed vampiric face jug by ML Owens Melvin L (ML) Owens (b1917-d2003) was one greatest potters in NC history, part of a family tradition that continues. His children that are potters include Bobby, Vernon (co-owner of Jugtown w/ his wife Pam), Ina Owens Bolick, Boyd, and Nancy Owens. Son of James Henry & Martha Scott Owens. JH had his own shop, while Martha created her famed hand-created chickens for Jugtown Pottery. Dates earlier 1980's. Stands 8" tall. Signed on base.

Condition
