Description
During the 1970s, Rodney Leftwich followed the regional folk pottery traditions of western North Carolina. Inspired, he purchased a potters wheel and learned to make pottery. His first pieces included traditional utilitarian forms glazed slips, crushed iron rock, and wood ashes. Rodney also worked at Pisgah Forest Pottery where he helped revived these old traditions. Everyone needs a mug to drink out of and some of us would like to see a face on it too! Signed on base Leftwich Pottery NC MTNS. 4" tall.
