Excessively rare NSDAP 1923 General Honor Gau Badge, the highest decoration awarded at the Gau level and awarded by Nazi Party headquarters in Munich. The badge is fabricated with a two- piece die struck 800 silver frame with a black lacquered mobile swastika with '1923' placed at its center, the swastika mounted to an oak leaf and acorn wreath. The hollow back reverse bears a maker's mark in relief: 'R. Wachter & Lange Mittweida 800'. Two rivets secure the swastika to the frame. A tight u-shaped pin and catch are provided, both fully intact. In excellent condition, the black lacquer virtually untouched. Measures approx. 1 3/4 in. diameter.
