With bold dramatic handpainted fish decoration. Porcelain fish sets were a staple in many fine old Victorian homes. This one is a particularly dramatic decorated set. Each piece features a central handpainted scene depicting various species of fishes, all framed in deep purple swag with a background on the edges of light pink or lavender. Some of the pieces are marked on the reverse “S” in a diamond with a “1549 22I”. SIZE: Platter is approx. 24” l x 9” w. Plates are approx. 9” x 9”. Condition: CONDITION: One plate has a chip on the reverse of the plate, paint is generally strong all over with a little wear on the purple framed portion of the images.
