Description
ATTRIBUTED TO EUNICE PINNEY (1770-1849). The watercolor on paper depicts a beautiful young lady wearing a gold crown and holding a cornucopia of flowers seated in a chariot being pulled by two lions. We believe this to be the work of early folk art watercolorist Eunice Pinney who was active and lived in Connecticut. A note on the back indicates that this was originally from the Estate of Isabelle Atwood of Atwoodville Rd, Mansfield, CT. and references another work by Pinney on page 47 in the “Flowering of American Folk Art” by Lipman & Winchester. SIZE: Overall 14” w x 14” h. Watercolor itself is 13” x 13”. Condition: CONDITION: The paper is toned.
