Description
Late 18th Century. Probably Connecticut. The rectangular dovetailed case with cove molded cornice in two parts. The upper case fitted with two aligned drawers over four graduated long drawers, set within the lower case of three aligned short drawers; the centermost shell carved. All above a shaped and scalloped apron. The case is raised on delicate cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. This well-proportioned example has a hand rubbed later mahogany surface and features batwing Chippendale brasses and single brass pulls which are later replacements. The secondary wood is chestnut and pine. SIZE: 6- 1/2" h x 39" w x 19"d. Condition: CONDITION: Some minor defects, but very good overall.
