Wool on canvas woven painting. A square panel depicting a bust portrait of a dark-skinned man. Coptic art, 5th century AD. Provenance: Kelekian collection. Dikran Kelekian, 1867-1951, Armenian-born collector and dealer of Islamic art. This artwork was published in Important Documents of Coptic Art in the collection of Dikran G. Kelekian, Harbor Press, New York, 1932. It was also exhibited in the exhibition titled Kelekian, As the Artist Sees Him that took place in 1944 at the Durand-Ruel Gallery NY. Black frame.
