A rare French early 19th century octagonal Creil creamware plate decorated with a pale green border and a finely detailed grisaille transfer print depicting an allegorical scene with the month of July as a winged man with the sign of Lion at his feet, titled in French: Juillet. Feature an incised mark on the back: Creil. Creamware is glazed earthenware pottery of a rich cream color, developed by Josiah Wedgwood in about 1760.
