Oval Portrait of Leonardo da Vinci, Oil on Board, appears to be unsigned. Condition: board is slightly concave; paint cracks are apparent throughout but there appears to be no active cleavage. Under black light inspection, the face, hat & vest have been cleaned but background varnish has been left untouched; two very tiny areas of inpaint are not visible to the naked eye (see UV photo). There is evidence of remains of a red seal on reverse of oval panel. Frame is solid but does have a noticeable crack (see photo). Overall Size: 17 x 14 1/2 in.Sight Size: 8 1/8 x 6 5/8 in.
