LIMITED EDITION PLAYING CARD SET. PRINTED IN 1970. SEALED!!Beautiful and highly original double deck of playing cards designed by Bolivian-born artist Graciela Rodo Boulanger and printed by "Matthieu Lithographes" in a limited edition (Edition siz - 9999). Boulanger's paintings and graphic art works are easily recognized, and these cards pursue some of the same visual themes that are to be found in her art work generally: round faced children, animals and musical instruments.These decks are sealed. The cards are wide cards (90mm x 65mm), slightly wider than the standard poker deck.Considered by most to be the #1 female artist in the world, Graciela Rodo Boulanger, is recognized for her unique treatment of the continuous theme of children, colored by the cultural element of her native homeland, South America. Her works can be found in major museums worldwide. Boulanger has produced these wonderful playing cards that are numbered.The cards are BRAND NEW and in MINT condition, wrapped in clear plastic and contained in the original box. The cards and dice have never been used.Manufactured by Matthieu Lithographes of France and published by Senans of Berne, Switzerland in a limited edition of 9999. Cards measure 90x65mm, slightly wider than the standard poker deck. There is gold-leafing on the corners of each card. Also included is a set of 5 poker dice designed by Boulanger that incorporates the same look as the cards.Graciella Rodo Boulanger Born in La Paz, Bolivia (1935-). Since her first one-woman show in 1953 she has worked in many other mediums besides oil painting; etching, lithography, watercolor, pastel, sculpture & tapestry. More than 150 exhibitions of the works by Boulanger have been held on all five continents of the globe. In 1979, she was designated by UNICEF as official artist for the international Year of the Child Poster. Works by the artist have been acquired by the Museum of Modern Art of Latin America in Washington, DC; Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris; the Museum of Modern Art, La Paz and the Modern Art Center, Zurich.
