Provenance

Condition
overall in stable condition, the table bearing evidence of alterations and later additions; nice patina to gilding throughout, with some occasional minor losses to gesso and gilding commensurate with age; the lacquer panel appears to have age, with cracquelure typical of material; the drawer and drawer understructure likely rebuilt, with evidence of later wood support blocks and nails; one drawer runner to underside presently detached- the glue attachment came loose and will need to be professionally re-glued; the drawer bottom and sides appear to have later wood, the drawer bottom retaining sticker to underside that reads "Made in France," although unclear how it relates to table; the drawer face with replaced brass knob, evidence of a former bail pull with plugged holes; table superstructure with pinned joints
