Description
A large Chinese export charger made with fluted border, and decorated with an unicorn armorial in the center, the arms of the Gale Family of Yorkshire or Cumberland, circa 1785 (Qianlong era). For a dish for this pattern, please refer to Howard, David Sanctuary; chinese armorial porcelain (vol i AND vol 2, PAGES 974 AND 518) Attached is a photocopy of the book and the estimated value. This charger is 15 inches long and 12 inches wide and 2 inches tall. There is a minor glaze loss at the border rim. No further damage or restoration.
