Description
An early 20th century French 18ct gold diamond, ruby and enamel brooch. Of square-shape outline, the three circular ruby cabochon and rose-cut diamond ducks, inlaid to the textured white enamel plaque with similarly-set openwork scrolling corner accent. French Assay marks. Length 2.2cms. Weight 5.9gms.
Condition
Overall condition fair. The rubies are in good condition, there are chips to some of the rose-cut diamonds visible with magnification. There is dirt and more pronounced scratches to the back of the brooch. The white enamel has a textured finish and dirt to the inlaid scratch effect detail. The back pin has the French assay stamp, the back pin is a little bent, yet secure. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue for coloured gemstones.
