Description
Tang Dynasty, Ca.618-907 AD A terracotta Tang Dynasty female dancer wearing a long flowing gown with her hands uncovered. The dress is a deep orange, which continues to the waist sash which separates the skirt from the bodice is also the same orange colour. Her upper body is slightly bend to the side, with her left arm up in the air, indicating motion. This piece has been precisely dated by means of a Thermo Luminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla, an independent German Laboratory. The samples collected date the piece to the period reflected in its style, whilst also showing no modern trace elements. The TL certificate with its full report will accompany this object. Report No. 11AG2132022. Size: L:320mm / W:140mm ; 1,05kg Provenance: East Anglian private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
