Ca. 1800-600 BC A fine ancient Luristan cast bronze pin, displaying a needle-shaped body terminating in an ibex head. The animal is modelled in a stylised manner with emphasized facial features, such as eras, nose and long horns. Joined by a later metal link chain by ancient Medes, an Indo-European group that eventually dominated Persia.Size: L:123mm / W:463mm ; 138.51gProvenance: Private London collection ( B.A); formerly acquired in the 1970s from John Lees collection.
