Description
NORTHERN BLACK SEA COAST, Ca. 400 - 300 BCA rare and attractive Greek Chalcidian helmet with original armoured plate cheek guards conjoined to the ridge by conical shaped shields. The bowl was forged from a single piece with a strong carinated ridge and peaked crown, raised neck cover, long nose-guard with raised edges extending to form the eyebrows. This helmet type probably belongs to a regional variant of later Chalcidian helmets from the area north of the Black Sea.
