Saint Martin with His Horse in a Ship
Engraving, by Johannes and Lucas Doetecum, circa 1561, but a well inked later impression of the final state (of three) with publisher's details changed to Joannes Galle (c.1600-1676) who inherited the copper plate from his father, on laid paper without watermark, sheet 342 x 424 mm (13 1/2 x 16 3/4 in), tipped at three corners onto paper support, scattered spotting and some surface dirt, some small abrasions in the upper part of the sheet possibly from silverfish/booklouse, small split in the upper edge (unframed)
