Thomas Robert Ablett (1849-1945), Watercolour, A view of Whitby headland from Sandsend, Yorkshire with figures. Signed with initials and dated 1888 lower right, and ascribed verso. Approx.10" x 13 3/4" Ablett was the founder of the Royal Drawing Society in 1888, with Lewis Carroll, Lord Baden-Powell and Lord Leighton as early supporters. Princess Louise was society president until her death in 1939.
