Cleater Meaders Jr (b1921-d2003) of GA (married to still living potter Billie Meaders), early in Billie's career, created this excellent joint face pot or pitcher. They had just begun to work jointly. Definitely wood-fired. Cleater was son of Cleater Meaders Sr. and father of folk potter Clete Meaders III. He created pots for about 2 decades of his lifetime. After the first several years, his wife joined him to make many of their pots jointly. Signed and dated on bottom 1989. Stands 9.25" tall.
