Item Details
Description
Potter Mike Ball had his initial operation in the Catawba Valley, post completing an apprenticeship with potter Kim Ellington, also of the CV. From the early 2000s to early 2010s he was located in the CV, and then moved to Buncombe Co. He throws a wide variety of southern folk pottery, always wood-fires, and has really gone to new levels of complexity and skill level in Buncombe Co. Among his early figurals, his guineas are the most famous. He also loves to employ multiple, up to hundreds of hand-crafted eyes (rumors include technically and I cannot deny this because may seen this, that he added 1000 eyes to very very large pot), to decorate his pots. This is a legit really classic swirl pot from his CV period. Signed in script on bottom. Stands 10" tall.
