Rare manuscript letter, one page, oblong 8vo, parchment, Menestou-sur-Cher (close to Bourges), 7th June 1412, in old French. The manuscript letter, written on behalf of John I states in part `We, Jehan Duc de Bourbonnais…acknowledge having received a sum.. from Pierre Remer, General Treasurer of my very dear cousin the Duke of Orleans..´, further saying `..to cover the expenses had on missions, to pay the troops to accompany our dear cousin the Count of Vertus.. until the Saone river..´ Edges irregularly trimmed. G An excellent historic document referring to the disputes between the Duke of Orleans, Charles ''The Poet'', father of King Louis XII, and the Duke of Bourgogne, while King Charles VI was besieging Bourges where was the Duke of Berry, allied of the Armagnac.
