Description
Mexican Maskmaker [20th Century]. "Mexican Mask [Traditional - 0117]. Mask from the Chantolo Dance, Chancaltitla, State of Hidalgo [Mexico]". Hand-painted, hand-carved natural hardwood sculpture. 1950s. A "danced" mask. Not made for the tourist trade or for sale, but created by the indigenous person to be used only in a ceremonial dance. Overall condition good. Approx. 7 1/2in high, 5 1/2in wide, 5in deep (191mm x 140mm x 126mm). KM Inv #MA0019. [26208] {K90}
