Framed embroidered picture, c. 1860 - 1890, wool on unidentified fabric base (probably cotton) of a footed vase of flowers with red drapery above, vase is decorated with the black head of a bird, flowers are red, white and lavender, background is worked in several shades of purple, lavender, gray and cream, dyes are aniline, which dates the picture to after 1856, embroidery consists mainly of long short stitches, frame is a simple beveled design, wear consistent with age, ss: 10 1/2" h. x 10 1/2" w.
