A VICTORIAN ARMCHAIR
By Charles Hindley & Sons, second half 19th century
Baluster oak front legs, brass caps and castors, having the cream undercover, the back left leg stamped 'C. Hindley & Son / 134 Oxford St / London', 83cm wide, 73cm deep, 91cm high (32 1/2in wide, 28 1/2in deep, 35 1/2in high).
Footnotes:
From 1844 Charles Hindley & Son traded from their Oxford Street premises where their business as high quality cabinet makers flourished, earning them a Royal Appointment. The firm exhibited at the Great Exhibition of 1851.
