A large and impressive 'L'Enfant a L'Escargot' (Boy Riding Snail) bronze mascot by Eugene Gairal de Serezin, retailed by Hermes, French, circa 1921,
signed 'Gairal de Serezin' to base and with foundry stamp and numbered '(12) 6996' to rear of base, 'cire perdue' hollow cast bronze mascot with patina, depicting a cherub with flowing drapery riding a snail, larger of the two versions produced and measuring 19cm high, and complete with original reins and the snail with tentacle eyes, mounted on a turned wooden display base.
