George III Mahogany Serpentine-Fronted Chest of Drawers, attributed to the workshop of Henry Hill of Marlborough
Fitted with a brush slide.
32 ? x 42 ? x 24 3/8 in.
Note: Henry Hill was active from 1740 till 1778, and worked in Marlborough in Wilshire. He wore many hats not only as a cabinet-maker, but a coach maker, an auctioneer, an estate agent and an insurance company representative. His clients were predominately Wiltshire landowners, such as the 9th Duke of Somerset at Maiden Bradley, Henry Hoare at Stourhead and the Earl Bathurst at Cirencester Park. The above offered lot is a known model of his work.
