IRVING BERLIN (1888-1989) New Songs for Irving Berlin's Easter Parade. MGM Studios.
[Hollywood?:] Loew's Incorporated, 1947. First edition thus, inscribed on the inside cover "To Harold/with my best/always/Irving Berlin." Original boards. 13 x 9 1/4 inches (33 x 24 cm); contains facsimiles of the manuscripts of 8 songs. Crease to one corner, lightly toned, the inscription dark and bold.

The 1948 Technicolor musical film Easter Parade starred Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Peter Lawford and Ann Miller. the film featured songs by Irving Berlin including some of his best known: "Easter Parade", "Steppin' Out with My Baby", and "We're a Couple of Swells." A fine association between Berlin and his long time friend and contemporary, Harold Arlen. Berlin thought quite highly of Arlen and said of him "Harold's best is the best."
