This volume introduces Asia, particularly China, Thailand, and India, with maps and detailed graphic illustrations of peoples, places, important buildings, and customs. The book opens in eastern China, moves to western China and various types of native people, dips down to Thailand, then on to India. Includes numerous illustrations, some full page, others smaller, including portraits of Chinese people in native dress, foot binding practices for women, the Forbidden Palace in Beijing, Manchurian people and other regional Chinese peoples and their customs, Thai people, elephants, Indian castes, Indian women, the Taj Mahaal etc. I could only show a fraction of what is included.
