This type of Churn was early as 1826 and patent was issued October 1st 1830 to Ebenezer Dewey. When lid was opened the cylinder was split in half and the dashes would raise with the lid. Thismade it easier to remove the butter and clean. (Brunk Actions). Churn is stenciled Joseph Breck & Co New England Agricultural Warehouse and seed Store. No. 51 & 52 North Market St Boston Mass. Was Located in Faneuil Hall market place Boston.Joseph Breck 1794-1873. Original yellow paint. 31 1/2 inches tall x 15 inches wide. Good condition.
