AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) "CALL TO ARMS" CALLIGRAPHY, ink on paper, for the "THE LOYAL NATIONAL LEAGUE" signed "Burton A. Thomas / West Sandlake, Rens. Co. / N.Y." Housed under glass in a period frame. Mid 19th century. 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" sight, 11 1/2" x 13 1/2" OA.
Provenance: From the Bill and Nancy Wick Collection, Port Royal, VA.
Catalogue Note: Burton A. Thomas (1809-1880) was married to Maria Thomas, and resided in West Sand Lake, Rensselaer County, New York, his occupation is listed as surveyor in the 1850 U.S. Federal Census.
