NEW ENGLAND PAINTED WOVEN-SPLINT COVERED BASKET, black ash, rectangular form, with wrapped rim, cover with push-up and applied arched decoration. Retains likely original green-painted surface. Late 19th/early 20th century. 9 1/2" HOA, 12 1/4" W rim.
Provenance: From an Eastern Virginia private collection.

Condition

Very good overall condition, probable losses to handles, the whole with scattered minor breaks, and with areas of expected usage wear.
