LARGE BAKONGO NKONDI NAIL FETISH FIGURE: This imposing fetish is 53" h x 11" w x 13" d. He is wearing a hat, carrying a spear in his raised hand, has been "provoked" with a maze of nails, is embellished with various kinds of metal and textiles and has glass eyes. This particular fetish is used by individuals, families, or a community to protect them from a number of evils and illnesses and to solemnize oaths and agreements. A holy person would activate it through the use of invocations and provocations so that it would gain power.

Condition

Normal wear with crack to base around his left foot. Very good condition. Please see images to assess condition.
