Circa 1900 Two-Part Maine Made Oak Gun Case, referred to as "The Holt Cabinet", upper section with molded edge cornice, egg and dart carved frieze, double doors with carved leaf decoration and key, retaining original wavy glass, felt-lined interior with eight ammo drawers, holds six long rifles or shot guns; lower case with brush and slide work surface, ornate brass hardware, acanthus leaf carved embellishment, and resting on hairy paw feet; with original old mellow finish, 81 3/4" high, 35" x 16 1/4". Good condition.
