225 十八世紀 壽山石笑獅羅漢

羅漢取壽山石精雕而成，質地細膩潤澤，色彩古樸雅致。羅漢高廣壽額，濃眉大眼，雙目輕闔，鼻翼寬厚，抿嘴微笑。嘴角、下顎蓄有捲曲鬍髭，大耳垂肩，面容和善。上身袒露，胸前肋骨清晰，斜掛佛珠一串，披袒左肩長衫，隨興舒坐，背後有圓形斗笠。右手舉起執一圓珠，左手輕撫獅背，獅昂首匍匐於羅漢身側，溫順可愛。羅漢之衣衫刻劃精美雲紋，衣領邊緣刻海水紋及雲紋，線條細密流暢。整體形貌雕琢精美生動，栩栩如生，極富巧思，顯露匠人極佳雕刻技藝，為文房陳設巧品。
壽山石是中國獨有的名貴彩石，質地瑩潤，色彩斑斕，主要分布於福州北郊與連江、羅源交界處，品類達百餘種。據載，壽山石的大量開採始於宋代，並用於雕刻，精美者作為貢品發往汴梁，成為達官貴人几案欣賞之物。明清時期，壽山石的雕刻及收藏愈加盛行，蔚然成風。
笑獅羅漢為伐闍羅弗多羅尊者，是佛教十八羅漢的第八位，因常將獅子帶在身邊，故被稱為「笑獅羅漢」。據傳，笑獅羅漢從不殺生，廣績善緣，因而終生無病無痛，又被稱為「金剛子」，深受人們尊崇。
