Description
A Victorian sterling silver salver, London 1860 by messrs Barnard
Of shaped circular form with a shaped cavetto edge and a beaded scroll rim, all raised upon three open work acanthus scroll bracket feet. The field engraved with interlacing foliate C scrolls with beaded strapwork and flower heads, centred with a crest of a dolphin naiant, pierced through the sides by two fishing-spears in saltier, tied together in a bowknot at the top. Fully marked to reverse edge, stamped 985.
