Description

A limited edition of Secretariat and Riva Ridge caricatures, reviewing the joys and sorrows of these two most famous equine stablemates. Most of the sketches in this portfolio were published originally in Daily Racing Form. This copy is unnumbered as it is believed to have been a gift from the artist prior to releasing the publication. Based on letters included with the book the consignor's husband was a stockholder for the publication. RM. PROVENANCE: From the personal collection of journalist and editor E. Michael Pakenham (1933-2018). Pakenham was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 1977 for his editorials in the Philadelphia Inquirer. He began his newspaper career at the Chicago Tribune and went on to work as an editor at the New York Herald, The New York Daily News, the Sunday Correspondent, and Spin Magazine. He retired from the from the position of Book Editor at the Baltimore Sun in 2004. IMPORTANT: Before bidding, please read the terms and conditions.
