A REVERSE-GLASS MIRROR PAINTING OF TWO IMMORTALS
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Depicting a female immortal holding a whisk, wearing fine robes and an elaborate headdress, accompanied by a young immortal holding the reins of a bull as they stand aloft on billowing clouds. The upper area of the painting also functioning as a mirror. With a carved Chinese wood frame.
Condition: With wear, minor manufacturing flaws, some blind spots to glass and soiling as well as abrasions to paint and few losses to the frame.
Provenance: British private collection, according to the current owner acquired from a Swiss private collection.
