A PERSIMMON-GLAZED CHICKEN-HEAD PORCELAIN EWER
China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or earlier. The ovoid body rising from a short spreading foot to a long thin neck set with a stylized chicken head. Applied with a rich opaque persimmon glaze, stopping unevenly above the foot to reveal the buff ware.
Provenance: German private collection, according to the current owner acquired from the Jerg Haas collection.
Condition: Very good condition, light surface scratches.
