Description
AN ENAMELED GARLIC-MOUTH PORCELAIN BOTTLE VASE, QING TO REPUBLIC
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The flaring sides rising from a short spreading foot with recessed base to a rounded shoulder with waisted neck surmounted by a garlic-head mouth, finely painted in iron red and gilt with geometric and floral bands on a celadon ground further embellished with grey lines imitating craquelure. The underside with an underglaze blue six-character apocryphal Yongzheng mark.

Condition: Very good condition with hardly any wear.
Provenance: A notable private collector in Kensington, London, United Kingdom, originally acquired in America.
