A FAMILLE VERTE 'PHEASANTS AND FLOWERS' VASE, LATE QING DYNASTY
China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century. Of cylindrical shape with a trumpet neck, finely enameled with two pheasants perched on craggy rockwork amid floral sprays and bamboo, the neck decorated with four auspicious symbols and floral sprays.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1990 and has remained in the family ever since.
Condition: The vase with some wear, a hairline, a drilled hole to the base, and manufacturing flaws such as pitting and dark spots.
