A TURQUOISE-GROUND HEXAGONAL HAT STAND, LATE QING DYNASTY
China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century. The hat stand of hexagonal form with reticulated reserves, painted in polychrome enamels partly in high relief, with shou symbols, bats, peaches, all symbols for longevity. The top with a copper finished brass mounting for a lampshade.
Provenance: German private collection.
Condition: The stand with an aperture drilled for the suspension of a cord, with associated fractures and repairs.
