Description
American (Pennsylvania), 18th Century. Three sided molded cornice above centered upper and lower paneled butterfly hinged doors. The three-sided molded cornice above centered upper and lower paneled butterfly-hinged doors enclosing a shelf interior, flanked by paneled sides over a stepped molded plinth. Rosehead nails and peg construction throughout. Wood analysis done by Gordon Saltar, Winterthur, Delaware, in 1974. Consignor notes indicate that "a specimen sent was close to the not for clear indeitification" and "may be pinus resinosa (sp)?, the American red pine, primarily a northern tree Nova Scotia to Mass - inland, NY and Penn".

Rose and pegged construction. Some old repair and restoration.
