Description
Joan Miró (1893-1983)
One plate, from Le Lézard aux plumes d'or (Mourlot 525)
Lithograph in colours, 1967, on wove paper with Miro watermark, signed and numbered 97/100 in pencil, printed by Mourlot, Paris, 1967-1971, the full sheet with a deckle edge below, with pale light-staining, the colours fresh, in overall good condition
Sheet 355 x 995mm. (14 x 39 1/2in.)
Footnotes:
The spectacle of the sky overwhelms me. I am overwhelmed when I see a crescent moon or the sun in an immense sky. In my paintings there are often tiny forms in vast empty spaces. Empty spaces, empty horizons, empty plains – everything that has been stripped bare has always made a strong impression on me.
